SINGAPORE – Regional food and agribusiness industry player Aboitiz Foods achieved a major milestone as its Risk Management Team secured the globally recognized  Risk and Insurance Management Society-Certified Risk Management Professionals (RIMS-CRMP) credential, solidifying the company’s position as one of the emerging leaders in the agrifood sector across the Asia-Pacific.

With 80% of its Risk Team now globally certified, Aboitiz Foods joins a select group of companies in the region that have elevated risk governance to international standards. The certifications were awarded during the PARIMA Conference, Asia’s premier gathering of risk practitioners and corporate leaders.

“We see risk management as an enabler of growth and innovation,” said Annacel Natividad, Aboitiz Foods Chief Risk Officer, adding, “By managing it with discipline and foresight, we strengthen the foundation of our business—ensuring that our people, partners, customers, and communities continue to thrive together.”

A global standard for a regional vision

The RIMS-CRMP is the world’s only risk management certification accredited under ISO/IEC 17024, a globally recognized benchmark for professional competence. This certification signifies mastery across key areas, including understanding the organizational model, developing risk strategies, implementing processes, and supporting sound, data-driven decision-making.

In an industry where food safety, supply chain stability, regulatory compliance, and climate-related unpredictability remain constant challenges, Aboitiz Foods sees risk management as central to its growth strategy – a direct investment in elevating quality, governance, and agility across the food value chain.

Expanding its reach across eight countries in Asia, Aboitiz Foods manages a broad, interconnected network—spanning feed mills, farm operations, logistics, trading, and food production—where proactive risk management is critical at every stage.

“Being RIMS-CRMP certified strengthens our ability to support the business with clearer insights and more structured risk strategies,” said Ed Monares, Aboitiz Foods’ assistant vice president for risk management and DPO, adding, “For Aboitiz Foods, this means we can make decisions with greater confidence — grounded in global standards and aligned with our commitment to deliver quality from mill to meal.”

Advancing agribusiness excellence across Asia-Pacific

As markets call for more resilient and transparent food systems, Aboitiz Foods views deeper risk management expertise as vital to navigating the sector’s most pressing challenges: climate volatility, disease risks, escalating production costs, and tightening regulations. This commitment extends beyond the company’s own operations to farmers, producers, suppliers, and partners throughout the whole food value chain.

“Earning this certification validates our everyday work, but it also pushes us to keep improving,” shared Jun Ning Tu, Aboitiz Foods Risk Specialist for China. “Knowing that our expertise strengthens the company’s resilience gives our work deeper purpose.”

Guided by its brand attribute of building expertise for quality, Aboitiz Foods underscores the need for modern agribusinesses to adopt risk-intelligent, technology-enabled, and globally aligned systems that elevate operational excellence and drive industry-wide resilience.

By continually investing in its people and their capabilities, Aboitiz Foods reinforces its risk foundation to expand across the region, safeguard its operations, and advance its purpose of sustainably feeding Asia’s growth from mill to meal.
