THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) worked with regional law enforcement and partner agencies to safeguarde Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) from online scams.

In line with this, acting DCPO director Col Mannan Muarip attended the 299th Regional Command Conference / Regular Law Enforcement Coordinating Committee XI monthly meeting, hosted by the Department of Migrant Workers XI.

The conference was held at the Panorama Summit Hotel and presided over by Brig Gen Leon Victor Rosete, acting Police Regional Office XI and RLECC XI chairman, who was represented by  Brig Gen Mariano Rodriguez, deputy regional director for administration.

The meeting convened representatives from the Philippine Army, Philippine Coast Guard, National Police Commission, Bureau of Fire Protection, and various regional offices from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Department of Justice.

The gathering, led by the DMW Regional Office XI under the leadership of Maria Carolina B. Agdama, focused on enhancing collaborative efforts across the region to maintain peace and order.

During the meeting, Muarip requested the DMW XI to provide detailed information regarding its campaigns against human trafficking, illegal recruitment, and financial scams specifically targeting OFWs.

The DCPO intends to feature the information prominently on its webpage, ensuring that OFWs and their families have access to timely warnings and preventive measures.
