IN CELEBRATION of Deaf Awareness Week, the Davao United Deaf Association (DUDA) held an inspiring art workshop titled “Beyond the Art of Silence” last Nov. 8, 2025, at La Herencia Davao.
Renowned Davao artist Alex Alagon coached the participants, guiding them to express their creativity and emotions through art, proving that art speaks beyond words and sound.
This meaningful event was made possible through the generous support of Bintana Art Gallery, La Herencia Davao, FGBMFI Davao Golfers Champion Chapter, Lamoiyan Corp., and JCI Lakambini Chapter.
The workshop celebrated inclusivity, creativity, and the powerful voice of the deaf community — truly going beyond the art of silence.
DUDA is a non-profit organization that aims to uplift the deaf youth not just in Davao City, but nationwide. The group continues to lobby local legislation to protect their rights, promote awareness, and also advance Filipino Sign Language for better communication access.
