THE FESTIVE spirit came alive on Thursday, Nov. 6, at the Dusit Davao Hotels’ lobby as dusitD2 Davao and Dusit Thani Residence Davao welcomed the holiday season with their annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, celebrating this year’s meaningful theme, “Paskong Kayumanggi.”
This year’s Christmas tree was beautifully designed by Annie Lin, featuring handcrafted ornaments and decor made by local artisans from Mindanao, a true showcase of Filipino creativity and craftsmanship woven into the heart of the season.
The evening brought together a distinguished gathering of guests, from government officials and diplomats to media partners, digital influencers, and loyal patrons.
Among those in attendance were DOT XI regional director Tanya Rabat-Tan; JICA advisor for institutional development Hori Kohei; and Consul General of Malaysia Deddy Faisal Ahmad Salleh.
Also present were valued sales partners, long-staying guests, and representatives from Field of Dreams Children’s Charity Foundation, the chosen beneficiary of Dusit Davao’s Stars of Hope charity initiative, a testament to the season’s spirit of giving and community.
The evening’s program was made even more vibrant with captivating performances, a cultural dance presentation by Kaliwat Culture and Arts Collectives, and a heartwarming medley of Filipino Christmas songs by the Serenata Singers. The fusion of traditional Filipino artistry and festive cheer brought the spirit of Paskong Kayumanggi to life, filling the night with music, movement, and meaning.
Following the program, guests enjoyed an exclusive four-course dinner at Benjarong Davao. This culinary experience beautifully harmonized authentic Thai cuisine with Filipino warmth and festivity, with each thoughtfully prepared dish telling a shared story that was vibrant, heartfelt, and crafted with passion..
