THE CITY government recorded a 12.29% increase in revenue collection as of September 2025, the City Treasurer’s Office (CTO) reported.
In a statement, city treasurer Atty. Lawrence D. Bantiding said local revenue collection reached a total of P12,053,369,244.53.
The number is 12.29% higher compared to the same period in 2024, which was at P10,743,407,562.74.
The increase is attributed to P2,532,822,246.96 from business taxes, and P985,702,932.31 in Real Property taxes. The city’s collection from local taxes, on the other hand, reached P4,275,868,354.32.
“Our office is optimistic that the city will be able to exceed the expected revenue collection by the end of the year. Hopefully, just like the previous years, the city will also be able to surpass the target collection,” Bantiding said.
As of September 2025, the city has already reached 84.02% of its target revenue collection of P14,346,445,829.
To note, the city ranked eighth among the Top 10 cities recognized as top-performing local government units (LGUs) in terms of locally sourced revenue (LSR), with a total of P6,842.98 million in LSR for fiscal year 2024.
The Department of Finance–Bureau of Local Government Finance (DOF-BLGF) recognized Davao City in the recently released DOF-BLGF Memorandum Circular No. 017.2025.
The city reported a significantly higher LSR compared to Php 6,672.89 million in 2023.
Davao City is the only city in Mindanao to be part of the Top 10 in local source revenues, along with Quezon City, Makati City, Taguig City, Pasig City, Manila City, Parañaque City, Pasay City, Mandaluyong City from the National Capital Region, and Cebu City from Visayas.
