VICE PRESIDENT Sara Duterte has stated that the decision to declare comedian-host Vice Ganda as persona non grata in Davao City will be left to the 21st City Council.
The issue arose following a joke made by Vice Ganda during a recent concert, who made a skit on former President Rodrigo Duterte’s previous statement about riding a jet ski to the West Philippine Sea, as well as hisl detention at The Hague in the Netherlands.
“Wala ko kabasa sa joke or nakakita sa joke kung asa siya. But kung unsa man ang desisyon sa City Council of Davao. It has to be a majority decision and the City Council of Davao is the correct body to declare a person persona non- grata diri sa atoang syudad because they are the representatives of the three districts of Davao,” the vice president said.
So, in response to the controversy, Acting Vice Mayor Rigo Duterte II said the city has more important matters to focus on.
“Davao City will not be distracted by cheap insults and distasteful jokes made for clout,” he said in a statement.
