THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) is taking to the skies to enhance public safety, launching a new initiative that combines specialized drone training with a modernized surveillance strategy.

Col Mannan C. Muarip, the acting city director, officially opened the Drone Operators Training at the DCPO Headquarters on Aug. 5.

A total of 58 personnel from various units are participating in the training, designed to improve situational awareness, tactical coordination, and real-time intelligence gathering. The initiative aims to equip the force with cutting-edge tools to improve operational excellence and community safety.

In conjunction with the training, Muarip also launched Oplan “Eye in the Sky Patrol,” a visionary surveillance strategy utilizing aerial technology to strengthen peace and order efforts across the city. The program will assist in key areas such as crime monitoring, crowd management, and disaster response, allowing for faster deployment and more informed decision-making on the ground.

“The Drone Operators Training and Eye in the Sky Patrol represent our drive to equip our force with cutting-edge tools in public service. We are investing not just in technology, but in people—our most valuable asset,” PCOL Muarip stated.

This initiative highlights the DCPO’s forward-looking approach and its commitment to safeguarding Davao City through innovative and adaptive policing methods.
