OPERATIVES of Police Station 3 (Talomo) successfully apprehended a carnapping suspect and recovered four stolen motorcycles following a hot pursuit in Cabantian, Buhangin on the evening of July 17, 2025.
Major Genesis P. Oriel, commander of Talomo Police Station, identified the suspect as alias Mulot, a 40-year-old male PUJ driver residing in Buhangin.
Police received a complaint earlier that morning from alias Emelda, who reported the disappearance of her Suzuki Raider motorcycle from its parking area in Bangkal.
A city-wide alert with the vehicle’s description was immediately issued.
At approximately 11 a.m., the Buhangin Police Station notified Talomo operatives that the stolen motorcycle was spotted being advertised for sale on social media, with its location traced to Cabantian.
In a rapid response, the Talomo Police, in collaboration with personnel from the Buhangin Police and the City Intelligence Unit (CIU), launched a joint operation.
Their combined efforts led to the successful tracking and arrest of “Mulot” in a subdivision in Cabantian, where the stolen Suzuki Raider motorcycle was recovered in his possession.
During questioning, “Mulot” disclosed the whereabouts of three other motorcycles he had previously stolen.
Acting on this crucial information, officers, supported by personnel from the Bunawan Police, immediately proceeded to a location in Tibungco.
There, they successfully recovered three additional motorcycles believed to be stolen. These vehicles are currently undergoing verification to identify their rightful owners.
Oriel praised his personnel for their prompt and effective action, highlighting the crucial collaboration with other units.
He emphasized that the incident was swiftly resolved, ensuring quick justice for the victim.
“Mulot” is currently in police custody and is expected to face appropriate charges for his alleged involvement in the carjacking incidents.
