THE TECHNICAL Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) XI awarded members of Team Agila on Tuesday, Oct. 13, for their excellence and accomplishments at the WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026.

Team Agila, representing Davao Region, ranked second among the 18 regions in the country and brought home five gold medals, three silver medals, five bronze medals, and three Medallions for Excellence.

The team earned their gold medals in the categories of Plumbing and Heating, Prototype Modelling, Wall and Floor Tiling, Artificial Intelligence, and Carpentry.

Their Silver medals were achieved in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Mechatronics, and Graphics Design Technology, while bronze medals were attained in ICT Network Infrastructure, Hairdressing, Cooking, Restaurant Services, and Bakery.

For Medallions for Excellence, members excelled in Additive Manufacturing, Cybersecurity, and Beauty Therapy.

TESDA XI regional director Tarhata Mapandi said the results show a breadth of talent in Davao Region, where they cover skills that build homes, support industries, and serve the communities.

“Behind these results are young people who committed themselves to preparation, experts, and coaches who guided them, and institutions and partners who invested in their development. This achievement belongs to all of them,” Mapandi said.

Moreover, three Davao Region representatives joined the WorldSkills Shanghai 2026, whose participation brought them face-to-face with the demands of international competition and the skills of young professionals from other countries.

The representatives are Alexis Joseph Anuta in Plumbing and Heating, Agxille Jade Langamin in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, and Roy Jhun Padecio in Networking Cabling.

Mapandi highlighted that their experiences in Shanghai helped TESDA gain new insights for preparations to compete internationally and provided valuable lessons.

The WorldSkills Philippines Clark 2026, launched last September, is organized by TESDA and is a national skills competition where Filipinos showcase their technical-vocational excellence and will be selected as top talents who will represent the Philippines to compete at international stages.
