Davao City – Some 400 entries are to compete in the First District Representative Paolo Duterte-Vice Mayor Rigo Duterte First Pickleball tournament on 22-23 August at the Crisron Pickleball Courts in Ma-a, “All our entries are from Davao City and registration is free on a first come, first serve basis,” said tournament director January Htun on Thursday’s 13 August Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum. Htun also added that for now they are now in the pairing stage in the various categories to be contested.
“Since pickleball is a fast-rising sport in the city, we will be giving away paddles as raffle prizes for the participants,” added Jessa Rondez, spokesperson from the Office of Vice Mayor Rigo Duterte. Participants will be playing in the Novice and Beginners categories with the awarding ceremonies to be held after the games at the said venue.
