THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested 86 individuals and confiscated nearly ₱700,000 worth of illegal drugs in a series of law enforcement operations over a period covering June 26 to Aug. 1.

According to a summary report released by DCPO director PCOL Peter Bauzon Madria, the operations focused on four directives: illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.

“These achievements reflect not only the dedication of the men and women of DCPO but also the strong partnership with the community, barangay officials, and the local government unit,” Madria said in a statement.

A total of 91 separate operations were conducted across the city during the reporting period, resulting in the following, including 30 drug stings, leading to the arrest of 35 suspects.

Confiscated during the anti-drug raids were 101.47 grams of suspected shabu with a standard price of ₱689,996 and 42.39 grams of marijuana valued at ₱5,086.80.

Police also arrested 30 fugitives, 18 of whom were classified as most wanted persons, in manhunt operations.

Also, authorities launched 16 anti-illegal gambling operations, arresting 15 individuals, seizing ₱5,740 in bet money, and filing 15 formal court cases.

Finally, 15 operations on loose firearms resulted in six arrests and six filed cases. A total of 15 weapons were accounted for—five seized, nine surrendered by local owners, and one recovered.

Law enforcement officials noted that these heightened police operations will continue across Davao City as part of overall security measures leading into the peak celebration of the month-long 41st Kadayawan Festival this August.
