Davao City – Some 140 entries are expected to join the 2nd Davao-Japan Friendship Golf tournament set this July 25, 2026 at the Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club in nearby Mandug.
“This year’s tournament has been officially recognized and certified as an event of the 70th Anniversary Japan-Philippines Friendship Year by the 70th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations,” said Liza Gamo, President of the co-organizing Hotel and Resorts Sales and Marketing Association (HRSMA) on Thursday’s 16 July Davao Sportswriters Association (DSA) Forum.
Tournament director Paul Garcia added that the one-day tournament will follow the Modified Stableford mode of play with shotgun starts at 10 a.m. The awarding ceremonies will be held on that evening, 6 p.m. at the Rogen Inn ballroom.
Backing the event are Consulate General of Japan Davao, Davao City Tourism Operations Office, City Government of Davao and Department of Tourism Office Davao Region.
