THE DEPARTMENT of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) XI announced on Tuesday, July 7, that the road in Sitio Cabadiangan, Talaingod, Davao del Norte, near Ridge View Resort, is now passable to all types of vehicles.

This follows the clearing operations conducted by DPWH Davao del Norte District Engineering Office after the landslide that occurred on Sunday, July 5, 2026.

To note, another major landslide early Monday buried a two-lane concrete road in Sitio Balakayo, Barangay Kalagangan, San Fernando, rendering it impassable to all types of vehicles.

The landslide came less than 24 hours after a landslide at Sitio Cabadiangan on Sunday.

Heavy rains over several days triggered the two landslides to hit San Fernando-Talaingod Road in two days.

DPWH said the Kapalong–Talaingod–Valencia (KTV) Road in Sitio Balacayo, remains closed, and is not yet passable to any type of vehicle.

Until this road is reopened, motorists are advised to use the Bukidnon–Davao (BuDa) Road via Quezon as an alternative route.

DPWH reminded all motorists to exercise caution, as unfavorable weather conditions are still ongoing.

“Necessary personnel and equipment have been deployed to conduct ongoing clearing operations and restore road accessibility at the soonest possible time,” DPWH X said.
