MOVING away from traditional celebrations, Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief Col Peter B. Madria marked his birthday by leading a community outreach to 200 residents in the remote district of Paquibato on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
The civic initiative, held at Sitio Pegdalahan in Barangay Pandaitan, was organized in collaboration with the Traffic Enforcement Unit, led by PLTCOL Christian Antonio D. Garcia, and the City Community Affairs and Development Unit under PMAJ Jake Goles.
The day’s events began with a ThanksgivingHoly Mass celebrated by Police Regional Office (PRO) 11 Regional Chaplain PLTCOL Randell V. Cinches.
Local officials, led by Barangay Captain Ananias Versano Sr., Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR) Igbuyag Manuel M. Banatao Sr., and TEU Advisory Support Group President Junnie Samsi, expressed their gratitude to the local police force for choosing the upland community as the venue for the mission.
Uplifting local families, the outreach provided essential services and goods, including free haircuts, hot meals, food packs, slippers, toys, and school supplies for the village children.
According to PCOL Madria, bringing services directly to far-flung areas is a core component of the DCPO’s commitment to genuine public service.
“Celebrating a birthday in service to the community is a privilege,” Madria said, emphasizing that such initiatives are vital in fostering accountability, transparency, and building a solid foundation of trust between the police force and the public.
