First and largest Filipino life insurance company InLife marked the Chinese New Year with the Amorsolo Circle’s Front Seat Client Forum and Market Outlook, featuring expert discussions on local and global markets, health-related financial risks, and traditional Feng Shui perspectives for 2026.

Held at the Fairmont Hotel in Makati City, the event, titled “2026 Prosperity Perspectives: Wealth, Protection, and Fortune,” gathered members of InLife Amorsolo Circle—InLife’s exclusive program for its valued policyholders—for an evening of insight, foresight, and meaningful engagement.

Understanding Hidden Risks in Wealth Planning

Before moving into market updates and fortune perspectives, the forum began by addressing an often overlooked but crucial topic: the financial impact of health emergencies. InLife’s Chief Product and Innovation Officer Jose Ang highlighted how major illnesses such as heart attack, stroke, and cancer can derail long‑term financial plans. He explained that unexpected hospitalization and treatment can force families to liquidate assets prematurely, compromising future goals.

Ang emphasized the importance of health protection that provides immediate financial support upon diagnosis, along with benefits that incentivize maintaining good health. His discussion set the tone for the evening: prosperity relies on both growth and safeguarding.

Philippine Market Outlook: Challenges and Opportunities

InLife Fund Manager Ron Lantin presented the local market outlook, noting that 2025 posed another set of challenges for Philippine equities, with the Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) declining by 7.29 percent. Despite the overall downturn, Lantin pointed out that several stocks continued to perform well, creating opportunities for discerning long‑term investors. He shared optimism that, with persistence and strategic positioning, investors may reap meaningful gains as the market stabilizes.

Global Markets: Transitioning from Volatility to Normalization

ATRAM Group Chief Investment Strategist Phil Hagedorn expanded the discussion to the global stage. He shared that the world economy is shifting “from volatility to normalization,” a transition that calls for cycle-aware positioning. Hagedorn underscored the importance of balancing stability with diversification. He discussed the potential in markets such as Japan, Europe, and select Asian economies, while also noting that US quality equities remain essential even as investors reduce concentration risk. He added that Philippine fixed income remains attractive, and that long-term investment themes such as AI, energy, and automation will continue to shape opportunities beyond 2026.

His insights reinforced a key message of the evening: informed strategy can still uncover growth, even in uncertain global conditions.

Feng Shui Perspectives: Navigating the Year of the Fire Horse

Feng Shui expert and Chinese geomancer Patrick Lim Fernandez offered a cultural and energetic perspective on the year ahead. He explained the Feng Shui “Triad of Luck”—Heaven Luck, influenced by time; Earth Luck, shaped by environment; and Human Luck, determined by actions. Fernandez shared that the Year of the Fire Horse symbolizes intensity, creativity, innovation, growth, and illumination. While energies related to wealth, relationships, and health will influence the year, he reminded the audience that individual effort remains a decisive element. “At the end of the day, luck is all about what we make of it,” he said.

His insights provided a thoughtful balance to the evening’s data‑driven discussions, blending tradition with modern financial planning.

InLife’s Chief Agency Officer Stephen Ong expressed appreciation to Amorsolo Circle members for their trust and continued engagement.
