THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) has taken its campaign against sexual violence to the remote highlands, officially launching “Oplan Neneng” in Sitio Panimbay, Barangay Paquibato Proper on Tuesday, March 10.

The initiative introduces a practical approach to crime prevention: encouraging families in crowded households to install curtains or dividers to create private sleeping quarters.

The program, which supports the broader “Oplan Kilos,” aims to reduce the risk of rape and domestic abuse by establishing physical boundaries within the home.

“Luwas nga Kwarto, Babae ug Bata Protektado (safe rooms, protect women and children),” the program’s tagline emphasizes, highlighting that the first line of defense against abuse begins within the family unit.

The launch was attended by key officials, including Women and Children’s Police Desk chief Maj Gillian Rose Birondo and Paquibato Police Station commander Maj Ian James Acal, alongside tribal leaders and barangay officials.
