AROUND 7,000 to 8,000 are expected to join the Purple Walk on March 6, 2026, at 7 a.m. from Roxas Avenue to Rizal Park as part of the International Women’s Month celebration, according to the Integrated Gender and Development Office.

The activity aims to highlight the importance of gender equality and recognize the role of women in society. The walk is one of the major activities in the city’s celebration of International Women’s Day and Women’s Month.

“This activity aims to promote awareness and encourage everyone to maintain respect for women and support gender equality,” said Lorna Mandin, head of the Integrated Gender and Development Office.

Participants from different sectors, including government agencies, schools, and community organizations, are expected to take part in the walk. The activity symbolizes unity and advocacy for women’s rights and empowerment.

She added that Davao City continues to promote respect, equality, and empowerment for women during International Women’s Month.
