THE COMMANDER of the Eastern Mindanao Command (EMC) commended the 10th Infantry Division for its “sustained gains” in maintaining an insurgency-free Davao Region during an official visit to the division headquarters on Monday, Jan. 26.

Upon his arrival, Major General Adonis Ariel Orio was received by 10ID commander Major General Alvin Luzon, alongside brigade commanders BGen. Apollo Jun Lamaton (1002nd) and BGen. Christopher Diaz (1003rd).

The 10ID presented comprehensive campaign updates highlighting its accomplishments in Internal Security Operations (ISO), particularly the sustained gains in its insurgency-free area of responsibility and the continued absence of active New People’s Army (NPA) units under the Southern Mindanao Regional Committee.

Luzon said these achievements contribute to a safe and stable environment that supports peace and development in the Davao Region and adjacent provinces.

Shifting to territorial defense

The division also highlighted its transition toward strengthening territorial defense and national sovereignty, proactive humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR), and reinforcing community resilience during natural emergencies.

Orio lauded the 10th Infantry Division for its operational effectiveness, noting that its accomplishments are vital in preserving peace, enabling socio-economic development, and maintaining regional stability.

As part of the activity, six deserving officers and enlisted personnel were recognized for their valuable contributions to the division’s campaign accomplishments.

In his talk to the troops, Orio emphasized the remaining security challenges, discipline in safeguarding the good image of the 10th Infantry Division and the Philippine Army, professionalism in service, and the importance of maintaining the health and welfare of troops.

In his message, Luzon thanked the EastMinCom commander and reaffirmed the division’s commitment to sustaining peace and security gains.
