THE TALOMO Police Station (PS3) confiscated three improvised tin-can and plastic cannons, locally known as lantaka or boga, from a 16-year-old boy at around 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, in Ulas, Davao City.
Personnel from Talomo Police Station, including MSg Juanito G. Estimada and Cpl Marjon Fermosel, conducted an ocular investigation along Gertrudes Road, Ulas, after receiving a report regarding the noise coming from improvised cannons in the area on Dec. 9.
Upon arrival, residents pointed to alias Dodong as the one who allegedly fired the improvised devices on Dec. 8, 2025, in front of his house across from the Coca-Cola plant in Barangay Talomo.
Responding personnel proceeded to the residence, where the minor’s mother, Marilyn, a 45-year-old housewife, voluntarily turned over the three recovered improvised cannons to the police.
Meanwhile, the Talomo Police Station has intensified patrols and surveillance to ensure compliance with Davao City Ordinance No. 060-02, which regulates the use of firecrackers, pyrotechnics, and similar noisemakers.
