THE 1001ST Infantry Brigade (1001Bde) joined provincial and local leaders in bringing essential government services to the remote grassroots of Barangay Manurigao, New Bataan, Davao de Oro, on Jan. 30, 2026.

The Kalambuan Service Caravan was spearheaded by Provincial Governor Raul Mabanglo, in collaboration with various national agencies and the local government of New Bataan, led by Mayor Bianca Cualing-Brua.

The initiative follows the “whole-of-nation” approach, which aims to harmonize security efforts with sustainable development.

Capt. Jose Ignacious De Leon, Civil-Military Operations officer of the 1001st brigade, said the caravan focuses on geographically isolated and formerly conflict-affected areas.

By addressing socio-economic concerns, the program seeks to strengthen government presence where it is needed most.

Residents of Barangay Manurigao received free services, including medical check-ups with Yakap registration, medicine dispensing, laboratory services, and ECGs, mobile birth registration, National ID registration, free haircuts, circumcisions, and hot porridge.

Provincial Health Officer Antonio P. Ybiernas Jr. led the medical mission.

Brigadier General Vince James D. Bantilan, commander of the 1001st Brigade, said that maintaining peace requires more than just a military presence; it requires strong partnerships.

“Your 1001st Brigade supports the peace and development agenda of the province,” Bantilan stated. He underlined that collaborative initiatives ensure that gains achieved through security operations are reinforced by responsive governance and community support.

Bantilan was accompanied by Lt. Col. Mark Serapion L. Lagud Jr., commander of the 25th Infantry Battalion.
