BIG Bad Wolf Books comes back to Davao City to bring in one million titles of fantasy, non-fiction, and children’s stories, offering up to 95% discounts from Nov 13 to 24 at the Tent, Azuela Cove.
True to its main goal of changing lives through books and building a new generation of readers, Big Bad Wolf aims to improve readership and English literacy in different countries where books are not accessible or not readily available.
“Davao is a city that we are committed to coming to every year. So, we have to bring fresh titles, we have to make a very deliberate effort to know what we brought last year and what we’re going to bring this year,” co-founder and executive director Jacqueline Ng said in an interview on Oct 28.
Ng said Filipinos love to read and that their English literacy is higher than in other countries. Big Bad Wolf has also reached its mission to reach one million readers in the Philippines.

This year’s Big Bad Wolf Davao event introduced a new “Campus Challenge” to invite schools where students and their parents must come to the event and purchase books to earn points.
The event is free admission and operates from 10 am to 10 pm from Monday to Thursday, and 10 a.m. to midnight on Friday to Sunday.
Big Bad Wolf Books, launched in 2009 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, was founded by Andrew Yap and Jacqueline Ng. It is widely known as the “World’s Biggest Book Sale” with a global advocacy to encourage readers of all ages to discover the joys of reading, empowering them with knowledge, and inspiring people to pursue their dreams.
