AN 11-YEAR-OLD elementary student was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday morning after he was stabbed inside the campus premises at SIR Elementary School in Barangay 76-A (Bucana), local police reported.
The incident occurred at approximately 11 a.m. on Oct. 21, 2026, at the school along Pag-asa Street, Sandawa, SIR Phase 1.
Authorities were formally notified 10 minutes later.
The victim, identified by alias Prince, 11, sustained wounds from a broken kitchen knife and was immediately transported to the Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) for emergency medical treatment.
Responding police and security personnel disarmed and rescued the suspect, identified as Axel. They also recovered the weapon at the scene.

The initial report revealed that the 13-year-old suspect was reportedly suffering from family-related distress and emotional struggles before the incident.
Investigating officers also disclosed that the minor had allegedly been accessing online applications and viewing graphic video content associated with violent extremism and high-profile mass attacks.
Following the intervention, police officers turned the 13-year-old minor over to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) for proper turnover to social welfare authorities and psychological evaluation.
