  • DCPO arrests purok leader, seizes P1.29-M in shabu

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested the region’s top high-value drug personality and seized P1.29 million worth of suspected shabu during a police operation on Aug. 13, 2025, along Pag-asa Street, Barangay 25-C.

The police only identified him as alias Utol, a purok leader.

Col Mannan C. Muarip, acting city director of the DCPO, issued a strong warning to those involved in the illegal drug trade.

“Let this serve as a stern warning—there is no place for drug syndicates, pushers, or users in Davao City,” Muarip stated. “If you choose the path of illegal drugs, you choose a path that will lead you straight to jail. We will find you, we will arrest you, and we will dismantle your operations.”

The operation was a joint effort of the DCPO’s City Drug Enforcement Unit and City Special Operations Group, the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit XI, City Intelligence Unit, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency XI.

Muarip reiterated the DCPO’s commitment to fighting the proliferation of illegal substances, emphasizing that the mission is crucial for protecting public health, safety, and the future of the city’s youth.
