AUTHORITIES in Mandug picked up the two minors believed to be gang members who allegedly ransacked a local daycare center, stealing school funds, and vandalizing the property.

The Mandug Police Station identified the suspects as alias Lanz, 16, and alias Taffy, 17, both residents of DDF Village in Barangay Mandug.

The incident occurred on Wednesday morning, Aug. 6, 2025, when a teacher arrived at the Daycare Center to find it had been vandalized and robbed.

The report said that the teacher initially sought help from a barangay councilor and police after discovering the school’s interior had been defaced with graffiti that read “Calinan Rami” and “TS Gang.” A total of P3,000 in class funds was also reported missing.

According to Police Captain Hazel Caballero Tuazon, spokesperson for the Davao City Police Office (DCPO), the minors were known members of a local gang.

She confirmed that the minors will be turned over to the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) for proper intervention. However, the two are not off the hook yet, as the police also prepared robbery and malicious mischief charges against them.
