THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) convened a dialogue with the deputy mayors representing the city’s 11 diverse tribes to foster stronger community ties and ensure a harmonious Kadayawan Festival.

The meeting, held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, underscores the DCPO’s commitment to inclusive and culturally sensitive policing.

DCPO acting chief PCOL Mannan C. Muarip, alongside PS1-Sta. Ana Station commander, Maj Richeen M. Lagnayo, met with the deputy mayors at their office in Magsaysay Park.

The delegation of tribal leaders was led by chairman Gabriel Nakan of the Maguindanaon tribe.

The dialogue focused on addressing tribal issues, concerns, and crucial preparations for the upcoming Kadayawan Festival 2025, as well as other significant city events.

Davao City is uniquely enriched by its 11 recognized tribes, comprising the Lumad groups—Ata, Bagobo-Klata, Bagobo-Tagabawa, and Obo-Manuvu—and the Moro communities—Tausug, Sama, Iranun, Maguindanaon, Maranao, and Kagan.

Through open communication and direct collaboration, the DCPO aims to bolster mutual trust and ensure that the rich heritage of the 11 Tribes is not only respected but also prominently upheld during civic celebrations, particularly the Kadayawan Festival.
