THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) is forging a strong alliance with local schools, aiming to build trust and promote safety among students and educators, beginning at Manuel A. Roxas Elementary School, where officers were recognized for their community engagement efforts, and a cop was awarded for her role in promoting gender-inclusive policing.
Col Mannan C. Muarip, the acting city director, attended the event on Monday to reinforce the DCPO’s commitment to working hand-in-hand with the education sector.
School principal Mrs. Nancy B. Lopez praised the initiative, stating that such collaborations are crucial for instilling discipline and fostering mutual respect between the police and the academic community.
The ceremony featured the awarding of a Medalya ng Papuri to PSSg Maizhen M. Bacor from Police Station 1, who was recognized for her commendable participation in the 1st Regional Gender and Development Committee Summit, PRO 11.
Her dedication to advancing gender sensitivity and inclusive policing was celebrated by both school officials and her colleagues.
In his address to the students, Muarip encouraged them to value their education, respect their teachers, and be mindful of the importance of discipline and good character.
He also made a point to emphasize the DCPO’s zero-tolerance policy on bullying, urging students to treat each other with respect and to report any incidents to teachers or authorities to ensure a safe learning environment for everyone.
