THE CHURCH of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints opened its “Light the World Giving Machines” at the 3rd floor Expansion Wing, Abreeza on Dec 1 to aid beneficiaries with essential services and donations.
The vending machines perform an act of instant service where donors can purchase items for those who are in need such as meals, medical supplies, and educational support. For every donation, 100% of the contributed amount will go directly to the designated charity partner.
This year’s beneficiaries are the Archdiocesan Nourishment Center, House of Hope Foundation for Kids with Cancer, and SOS Children’s Village.
Light the World is a global initiative to invite people to follow the example of Jesus Christ through spreading kindness, love, and compassion in celebration of Christmas.
The Giving Machines launched in the Philippines back in 2018, and has recorded 6,305 donors that contributed P750,000 to charitable causes in 2024.
It has opened in 107 locations worldwide, including three in the Philippines (Manila, Cebu, and Davao), reaching over 850,000 visitors who donated almost 500,000 items.
Since its debut in the United States, Giving Machines has raised more than $50M globally.
