Shincheonji wants first-ever Revelation Bible exam with other Christians in the Philippines

MANILA — Shincheonji Church of Jesus The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (SCJ) expressed its interest in inviting all Christian pastors, priests, and other religious leaders to conduct a unique Bible exam focusing on the Book of Revelation with the objective of deepening Scripture-based faith.

This would be a unique Bible exam that mirrors the one conducted in Tanzania last August 18, which was participated in by 138.

The Bible exam aimed to encourage participants to reflect on their personal faith journey through the words of Revelation 22:18–19, which calls believers to keep the Word without adding to or taking away from it. Questions were designed not only to test knowledge, but also to help individuals examine whether their daily lives were aligned with the teachings of Scripture.

One Tanzanian pastor who joined the exam shared his insight after the experience:

“Seeing Shincheonji members write their answers so confidently today made me reflect on my faith and calling as a pastor. I will study Revelation through the Shincheonji Zion Christian Mission Center, lead my congregation on God’s path, and teach them correctly so they can enter heaven.”

Zion Christian Mission Center (ZCMC), a Theology center operated by Shincheonji, offers free Bible courses from Genesis to Revelation.

This initiative was particularly notable because it was the first time a large number of pastors in Tanzania participated in such an event. In Korea, where a similar exam was previously held with 313 participants, only one pastor from a traditional denomination had joined.

SCJ would like the Philippines, a predominantly Christian country, to conduct a similar activity to deepen the faith of Filipinos.

A Shincheonji representative in Tanzania commented: “The Bible exam is not just a test of knowledge, but a way to confirm whether one’s standard of faith is truly the Word of the Bible. We are grateful that more pastors are gradually joining both domestically and internationally. We hope more churches and believers will unite and interact based on Scripture.”

SCJ Chairman Lee Man-hee has consistently emphasized the necessity of testing faith by the Scriptures themselves: “The standard for discerning truth and falsehood, orthodoxy and heresy, is not human tradition or doctrine, but the Word of the Bible alone.”

Since its establishment in 2018, Shincheonji Tanzania Church has steadily grown, with more than 2,400 members as of August this year. The church continues to hold exchanges with local pastors and congregations, focusing on Scripture-centered fellowship.

The event is seen as a step toward greater unity among Christians through shared study of the Bible — an approach that resonates not only in Tanzania, but also with faith communities around the world, including the Philippines, where the value of inter-church scriptural study remains strong.
