GLOBE’S operating performance in the mobile segment continues to thrive as it contributed 86% to the total mobile revenues in the first half of 2025, a testament to the company’s drive to digitalization.
Mobile data revenues reported a P48.8 billion, representing a 2% increase year-on-year, supported by sustained network investments that enhanced services quality and competitiveness. Globe also saw a recovery rise of 2% quarter-on-quarter with P28.8-B in the second quarter of the year.
The company’s steady growth of its mobile subscriber base reached 62.5 million (5% year-on-year increase) as of June 2025. This reflects the Filipino’s continued data habituation on high data consumption, which becomes increasingly a daily essential.
Moreover, mobile data traffic rose to 3,187 Petabyte (7% increase quarter-on-quarter) while mobile data monthly average traffic per user (ATPU) hit 15.4 GB (also 7% increase quarter-on-quarter).
Meanwhile Globe’s total mobile revenues of the first half of 2025 amounted to P57.1-B, a decrease of 2% year-on-year, mainly due to the continued decline in legacy voice and SMS services.
For capital expenditures, funds are predominantly directed toward data-related initiatives at 91%, which affirms Globe’s commitment to strengthening its digital infrastructure.
Presently, the company has built 937 new cell sites, upgraded 4,512 mobile sites, installed 444 5G, and deployed 35,821 FTTH (Fiber to the Home) lines during a six month period to expand its network and meet the growing digital demands across the Philippines.
