A SWIFT response by Tourist Police Unit personnel at the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal led to the recovery of an iPhone and its subsequent return to the student on Sept. 29.

According to the belated report, the incident began at approximately 12:52 p.m. when alias Mart, a 20-year-old student from Lipa City, reported losing his black iPhone X after alighting from a taxi.

TPU personnel immediately assisted the student and coordinated with the DCOTT management to review CCTV footage. They then contacted the taxi company involved to locate the driver.

Their efforts paid off quickly. At approximately 2:20 p.m. on the same day, Renato B. Tabuilog, the driver of the Mabuhay taxi, returned to the terminal and handed over the phone to authorities in good condition.

The efficient resolution highlights the TPU’s vital role in addressing everyday public safety concerns and its effective coordination with terminal management and local transport operators.
