VICE PRESIDENT Sara Duterte has dismissed allegations of “habitual absence” as baseless attacks from political opponents.
In a media interview on Monday, the vice president called the accusations “a smear campaign.”
“Habitual absence saan? Hindi ko alam kung ano yung pinagsasabi nila ng habitual absence,” she said.
She then described the allegations as a recurring tactic by what she called “anti-Duterte” individuals who make accusations “kung saan-saan at wala namang basehan, walang ebidensya.”
The vice president challenged her critics to present their claims in the “tamang forum or sa tamang venue,” adding, “Ang akusasyon na walang basehan ay isang paninira lamang. Ganyan ang lagi nilang ginagawa.”
In multiple briefings, Presidential Communications Office Usec. Claire Castro pointed out the vice president’s trip overseas. She also cast doubts on whether Duterte secured a travel authority, a requirement for any government worker, every time she goes out of the country.
