Nuvali Estate has achieved a major sustainability milestone after Lakeside and East Bloc earned BERDE 5-Stars Certification under BERDE Districts Version 1.0.0 for Stage 1 and Stage 2 from the Philippine Green Building Council (PHILGBC). The recognition also marks Nuvali as the country’s first commercial business district to be recognized under BERDE Districts, further reinforcing its role as a pioneer in sustainable and master-planned urban development.

The recognition marks the first time districts within an Ayala Land estate have received the coveted BERDE 5-Stars certification, reinforcing Nuvali’s position as a leading sustainable and masterplanned estate in CALABARZON.

Nuvali, Ayala Land’s flagship eco-city and largest estate development in the region, reflects the company’s long-term commitment to building environmentally responsive communities at scale. Positioned as the “Rising South,” the estate continues to evolve as a growth center integrating sustainability, business, mobility, retail, and lifestyle components within a single master-planned community.

Developed by PHILGBC, BERDE (Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence) is the country’s leading green building certification system, assessing developments based on environmental performance beyond existing laws and mandatory green standards. “By achieving BERDE certifications in Nuvali, Lakeside Evozone, and East Bloc project demonstrated its commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship,” saidRowena Ramos, Vice Chair, Board of Trustees of PHILGBC.

“Receiving the BERDE 5-Stars Certification under BERDE Districts for both Lakeside and East Bloc reflects our commitment to building sustainable and future-ready communities that create long-term value for residents, businesses, and stakeholders,” said Gilbert Ramos, Senior Project Development Manager of Ayala Land Estates Inc.

Located within the 200-hectare Metro Nuvali CBD, the Lakeside District serves as Nuvali’s leisure and lifestyle destination, anchored by open spaces, recreational amenities, retail offerings, and its signature lakeside environment. A major redevelopment of the district is underway, including a new connection to Ayala Malls Nuvali aimed at creating a more seamless lifestyle and leisure experience within the estate’s growing super regional mall destination. The project is targeted for completion by the fourth quarter of the year.

Meanwhile, East Bloc continues to emerge as a business and commercial hub envisioned to support commerce, mobility, and modern urban living in the South.

The estate’s continued expansion also includes the recent signing of the Nuvali Parish Church with the Archdiocese of San Pablo and the Deed of Donation with the City Government of Santa Rosa for the upcoming LGU Satellite Office, further strengthening Nuvali’s role as an emerging CBD and lifestyle hub in CALABARZON.

Both districts were recognized for integrating environmentally responsive planning strategies, including walkability, green open spaces, sustainable land use, mobility connectivity, water management systems, and resilient infrastructure.

The recognition further underscores Ayala Land Estates’ approach to large-scale urban development that balances economic growth, environmental stewardship, and quality of life.

As Nuvali continues to grow, the estate remains focused on developing communities that respond to evolving urban needs while preserving the natural environment that defines its identity.
