THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) closed out 2025 with a total of 5,153 arrests, highlighting a year of intensified crackdowns on illegal drugs, gambling, and loose firearms.
Acting city director Col Mannan C. Muarip attributed the high volume of apprehensions to the “religious implementation” of focused law enforcement directives and intelligence-driven operations.
Central to these operations is the DAVAO framework, an acronym for Discipline, Action, Virtue, Accountability, and Order.
According to Muarip, this framework ensures that while enforcement is decisive, it remains professional and anchored in human rights.
“These results reflect what we can achieve when the police and the community work as one,” Muarip stated, emphasizing that the 5,153 arrests were made possible through close collaboration with the local government unit and barangay officials.
The DCPO vowed to sustain this momentum into 2026, focusing on increased police visibility and community engagement to preserve the city’s peace and order.
