DCPO arrests ‘high-value’ suspect; ₱95-K in shabu and firearm seized

THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) arrested a high-value individual (HVI) and recovered nearly ₱100,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust on Jan. 5, along Soliman Street, Barangay Tomas Monteverde, Agdao District 

The suspect, identified only by the alias Marvin, was apprehended by the City Special Operations Group (CSOG) and the City Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) in a coordinated strike led by Lt. Col. Randy Sambalod.

During the operation, law enforcement officers recovered suspected drugs with an estimated street value of ₱95,200 and a .38 caliber revolver.

“This significant accomplishment is a clear manifestation of our steadfast commitment,” DCPO acting chief Col Mannan Muarip said in a statement. “Order was reinforced by removing a high-value drug personality, dangerous illegal drugs, and an unlicensed firearm from our community.” 

The suspect is currently in police custody and will be facing charges for violating Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).
