WE Meet Davao brought together local women founders, funders, local brands, and ecosystem partners for a lively community gathering and support on Sept 16 at iHub at Pines Place.
WE Meet, a flagship event of Nüshu Network, boasts of a large membership of women entrepreneurs and investors across South and Southeast Asia, focusing on peer-to-peer relationships, help scale businesses, and high-impact sessions.
The experience came to Davao City to spotlight homegrown founders and strengthen connections in the local startup ecosystem.
The event featured entrepreneurs pitching to ARQ SME BDC to explore working capital financing through SheSecure, a gender-lens investment product developed with the Australian Government’s Investing in Women initiative.
Women-led brands also put up community booths to showcase handwoven jewelry, activewear brands for women, art and crafts products and others. The participating booths were RKR8 Creative Studio, Chiron Activewear, The Tiny Beader, and Crafty Galleon.
Highlights of the event also included a panel named “Local Roots, Bigger Markets: The Journey of Davao Women Entrepreneurs” joined by Davao-based women entrepreneurs Felicitas “Joji” Bautista Pantoja, co-founder and CEO of Coffee for Peace, and Marj Alawi-Bulahan, co-founder of Creative Circle Philippines.
Both guests shared their stories, humble beginnings, challenges in their entrepreneurial journeys, and offered a meaningful conversation on what it takes to grow a business .
WE Meet Davao was hosted by Nüshu Network in partnership with Upgrade Innolab and the Innovation and Development Accelerators Consortium for Startups (IDEAS) Davao with the support from ARQ SME BDC and Creative Circle Philippines.
