THE 10TH Infantry Division has dispatched additional combat troops to the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) to bolster security operations ahead of the 2026 BARMM Parliamentary Elections.
During a formal send-off ceremony on Sunday, Aug. 30, at Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, Davao de Oro, the division deployed elements from the 67th Infantry (Agila) Battalion and the 102nd Division Reconnaissance Company.
The troop movement will reinforce existing military units on the ground and support security operations spearheaded by the 6th and 11th infantry divisions across their respective areas of responsibility in the Bangsamoro region.
Addressing the departing troops, 10ID commander MGEN Alvin Luzon said the military’s primary role is to shield voters from coercion and preserve public integrity in the democratic process.
“The right to vote is a fundamental right of every Filipino. Our responsibility is to help ensure that every voter can exercise this right freely, safely, and without fear,” Luzon stated.
Luzon ordered all personnel to strictly adhere to non-partisanship, military discipline, and the rule of law throughout their deployment in the electoral areas.
“Our loyalty is to the Constitution, to the people, and to our mission,” he added, reminding troops to uphold constitutional mandates while conducting security patrols and static defense operations.
The deployment forms part of the Armed Forces of the Philippines’ broader goal of preventing election-related violence, disarming private armed groups, and securing voting centers across the autonomous region.
The 10ID leadership reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining close coordination with the Commission on Elections, local government units, the Philippine National Police (PNP), and regional peace stakeholders to ensure a credible and peaceful election cycle.
Previously, the 10ID deployed the 28th Infantry Battalion.
