A SECURITY operation involving more than 1,400 police officers ensured the peaceful opening of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) Kingdome, as the crowd peaked at 80,000 on Tuesday, Sept. 1.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) chief PCOL Peter B. Madria led the operation, which ran from 1 p.m. to 9:25 p.m. at the KOJC Compound in Sasa, Davao City.
Despite the high volume of attendees, authorities reported that the activity ended without any incident.
The security cluster comprised 118 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) alongside 1,330 personnel from external agencies, the Public Safety and Security Office (PSSO), traffic units, and local security teams.
Crowd estimates showed a steady surge through the afternoon and evening:
6:00 PM: 50,000 attendees
7:00 PM: 75,000 attendees
8:00 PM: 80,000 attendees (Peak)
9:00 PM: 80,000 attendees
10:00 PM: 2,000 attendees (Dispersal complete).
”The opening of the KOJC Kingdome is a significant event for Davao City, and the DCPO stands firm in its responsibility to protect the public,” said Madria. “Through the collective efforts of our officers and partner agencies, we ensure that safety remains our top priority.”
