THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) intercepted nearly ₱2 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 87 individuals in a series of synchronized operations across the metropolis over a seven-day period.
The accomplishments, covering Aug. 30 to Sept. 5, were spearheaded by DCPO chief PCOL Peter B. Madria as part of the command’s intensified enforcement against illegal drugs, illegal gambling, wanted persons, and loose firearms.
According to the report, multiple anti-illegal drug operations led to the arrest of 33 suspects and the confiscation of 278.52 grams of suspected shabu (valued at ₱1,893,970.00) and 694.3 grams of marijuana worth ₱83,316.00.
The DCPO also arrested 35 fugitives, including 17 classified as Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) at the city and regional levels.
Crackdowns on illegal gambling yielded 19 arrests across 17 operations, with officers seizing ₱5,140.00 in bet money and filing 17 formal charges in court.
Meanwhile, anti-loose firearms enforcement led to the arrest of five suspects and the confiscation of five illegal guns across 16 operations. Nine additional guns were surrendered through “Oplan Katok” community visits, resulting in three court cases filed.
Madria commended field commanders and operating units while emphasizing that the citywide operations were carried out with strict adherence to human rights and police operational procedures.
