MAJOR General Alvin Luzon, commander of the 10th Infantry Division, led soldiers and personnel in a 20-kilometer foot march on Saturday, Aug. 22, to mark the division’s 20th founding anniversary.
Dubbed “AGILAKAD 2026,” the march centered on the theme “Sustaining Peace, Securing Sovereignty, Inspiring Excellence @20.”
Troops kicked off the 20-kilometer route at the 10ID Headquarters in Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr. in Mawab, proceeding along the Mawab-Tagum City Road towards the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex.
According to the 10ID, the route was chosen to retrace operational paths that defined two decades of military service and security operations across the Davao Region.
“AGILAKAD reminds us of where we came from, the sacrifices that brought us here, and the responsibility we carry moving forward,” Luzon said in his address to the troops. “For 20 years, we have moved forward together in the service of the people. Let us continue that journey—united, disciplined, and committed to our mission.”
The anniversary event highlighted the division’s major security operational milestones, particularly the declaration of the entire Davao Region as insurgency-free.
Participants included officers, enlisted personnel, civilian human resources, and members of the 1102nd Community Defense Center.
Davao del Norte Governor Edwin Jubahib served as the guest of honor and speaker, commending the division for preserving regional stability and fostering strong civil-military partnerships.
