THE POLICE Regional Office XI arrested one individual and seized illegal wood products worth ₱91,982 during a nine-day operation against illegal logging from Oct. 1 to 9.
PRO XI acting chief PBGEN Benigno L. Guzman emphasized the importance of continuous law enforcement operations and strengthened collaboration with relevant government agencies and local government units (LGUs) to curb the logging and sale of illegal timber.
He said community cooperation is also crucial in promptly reporting activities that threaten the Davao Region’s forests and natural resources.
PRO XI once again called on the public to report any suspicion of illegal logging to the nearest police station or government agency to preserve the environment for present and future generations.
