THE POLICE Regional Office XI arrested one suspect and seized P1.5 million worth of equipment during an operation in Kapalong, Davao del Norte, on Tuesday, Oct. 21.

The operation, carried out by the Regional Intelligence Division XI,  targeted an unlawful LPG refilling operation that posed a serious risk to the local community.

According to the PRO XI report, at approximately 5 p.m., PRO XI units, led by RID XI under the supervision of Col Melvin R. Montante, implemented Search Warrant No. 283-2025 in Kapalong.

The operation resulted in the arrest of alias Ronald, who was caught in the act of illegally refilling Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders.

The suspect is facing charges for violating Republic Act No. 11592, or the LPG Industry Regulation Act of 2021.

Authorities noted that alias Ronald may also face liability under the Fire Code of the Philippines (RA 9514) for operating a flammable gas refilling activity in an unapproved residential area.

The total inventory of confiscated items—including numerous LPG cylinders, specialized refilling equipment, seals, and related paraphernalia—was estimated to be valued at ₱1,546,700.00.

BGen Joseph R. Arguelles, regional director XI, commended the operating team for the successful operation.

“This accomplishment demonstrates our strong resolve to uphold lawful business practices and protect the community from hazardous and unlawful operations,” Arguelles stated.

“May this serve as a warning to those who continue to engage in such illegal activities to immediately stop, as PRO XI remains steadfast in intensifying law enforcement operations to ensure the safety and well-being of every community,” he added.
