THE DAVAO City Police Office (DCPO) and its tactical units cleared two separate bomb threats reported in public high schools on Thursday morning, Oct. 23, 2025.
DCPO spokesperson Captain Hazel Tuazon identified the targets as Talomo National High School and Bangoy National High School (Senior High) in Sasa. Both incidents occurred less than 24 hours after police responded to and cleared two earlier bomb threats at private schools on Wednesday.
In both instances, the DCPO’s City Tactical Operations Center (CTOC) initiated an immediate, multi-unit response to secure the premises and ensure public safety.
The incident at Bangoy National High School (Senior High) was reported to the CTOC via PS4 Sasa STOC at 7:39 a.m.
Local precincts (PS4 Sasa), the Traffic Enforcement Unit (TEU), and the 1st and 2nd City Mobile Force Companies (CMFC) were immediately tapped for area security. At 7:40 a.m., police mobile units arrived on the scene and established a perimeter cordon.
By 7:41 a.m. Eye in the Sky drone operations were deployed for aerial surveillance, and students were simultaneously instructed to vacate the school premises.
Students and personnel from both Talomo National High School and Bangoy National High School were directed to evacuate as a precautionary measure, allowing bomb squads and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) teams to conduct a thorough search.
As of this writing, the DCPO has yet to release further details on the clearing operations in both schools.
