Well, devastated Iran now appears to avenge itself of the destruction of its nuclear development program facilities bombarded by US stealth bombers (B-2) at the height of the Israel-Iran conflict a few weeks back.
And Iran did it without even firing a single intercontinental ballistic missile towards the US mainland. That Middle Eastern country simply had the favor of their God, Allah, who apparently must have mandated nature to direct its anger to certain states in that American country.
Yes, Iran’s God may have selected at least two of the States in the US to be victims of the massive flooding in that part of the North American continent. The floods destroyed everything that interfered with the raging water overflowing the wide rivers thereat as continuous rains poured in the states of Texas and New Mexico.
The floodwater was so deep and wild that it destroyed everything along its way. Roads and bridges, camping sites facilities, residential houses, commercial buildings, and vehicles were carried by the extremely strong currents. Trees standing or still very much alive were washed away by the extremely strong currents.
So much was the destruction that when the water subsided, all that was left were scenarios of devastation – reminders of people and authorities so wanting in concerns for disaster prevention and mitigation planning.
And we doubt if Iranian officials who hate the United States so much even prayed for the disaster to happen. But the massive deluge came without warning. Meanwhile, the process of computing the estimated damage has yet to be started.

According to a post on Facebook attributed to Vice President Sara Duterte, her father, former President Rodrigo R. Duterte, who is currently detained at the International Criminal Court (ICC) detention facilities in The Hague, Netherlands, has conveyed his final wish to her daughter. According to the post, the former President told VP Sara that should he die while still in detention in The Hague, he wants his body cremated there.
While it was not categorically mentioned in the post as to what FPRRD’s instruction regarding his ashes after his cremation, we feel safe to assume that he wants it brought to the country of his birth. The question now is, how fragile really is the health condition of the former Chief Executive? While there were earlier posts on Facebook claiming the Davaoeño former chief executive appears to be in skin and bones already, in the same post, the former wife of FPRRD, and later confirmed by VP Sara, says the health condition of the former President is generally okay.
But of course, knowing FPRRD to be a total stranger in that European country and inside a jail facility at that, everything – the climate, the food, and even his immediate environment–are totally strange phenomenon to him.
And definitely, dealing with such strangeness is depressing and devastating to persons not used to it. If loneliness to loved ones – immediate family members, and his constituents – is added, the deterioration of one’s physical condition could even come faster.
Will the former President be able to breeze through all of these? We want to think that he can. What with the clearly manifested love by his immediate family members, the moral support shown by the people of Davao City, and hordes of his countrymen who are doing everything they can to show they are behind FPRRD until death.

The Davao taxi driver who was accused by an elderly couple of having charged them close to P3,000 in fare from the airport to the Davao City Overland Transport Terminal is possibly color-blind.
Imagine, he claimed during a confrontation at the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LRTFRB) with the passengers, he told the hearing officer that he thought he received from the couple three (3) P100 bills!
What a difference a color makes! A P100 bill is in the color of the root crop “ube.” The P1000 bill is blueish in color. Is the difference in color between the two money denominations too difficult to distinguish? And we supposed the ride in that taxi cab happened during daytime?
We hope that the incident will not adversely affect the image now proudly upended on Davao City – that it is a place of honest taxi drivers that any visitor in Davao can trust.
