PHILIPPINE Army chief, Lieutenant General Roy Galido, lauded the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division for its significant strides in clearing most of its operational areas of insurgency during his visit to Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro, on July 24, 2025.

During his address, Galido commended the relentless efforts of the Agila Division’s line units, which have led to lasting peace and security across multiple areas now declared insurgency-free.

He emphasized the strategic value of these operational gains, highlighting the division’s crucial role in national security. Major General Allan Hambala, commander of the Agila Division, welcomed Galido and his delegation.

Beyond operational achievements, Lt. Gen. Galido urged Agila Troopers to cultivate a “new environment” within the ranks, one founded on professionalism, accountability, and genuine transformation.

He underscored that leadership is a duty to serve soldiers first, and a responsibility to the organization and the nation, rather than a means for personal gain.

“As we win on the ground, we must also win in character—by building a culture of professionalism, respect, and purpose in every Filipino soldier,” Lt. Gen. Galido stated.

In recognition of their outstanding performance in Internal Security Operations, Lt. Gen. Galido awarded CGPA (Commanding General, Philippine Army) Streamers to several top-performing brigade and battalion units under the 10ID.

These included the 1001st (Pag-asa), 1003rd (Raptor), and 701st (Kagitingan) infantry brigades. Battalions honored with the prestigious streamers were the 25th (Fireball), 27th (Action), 28th (Kamagong), 39th (Smash ‘Em), 48th (Guardians), 60th (Mediator), 66th (Kabalikat), and 67th (Agila) infantry battalions.

Their combined efforts were instrumental in dismantling various New People’s Army (NPA) sub-regional committees, guerrilla fronts, and regional operational commands operating under the southern, north central, and northeastern Mindanao regional committees.

Additionally, certain units received CGPA Significant Accomplishment and Major Engagement Streamers for high-impact operations that resulted in the capture and surrender of high-value individuals, recovery of firearms, and disruption of enemy hideouts.
