AUTHORITIES confiscated over P1.2 million worth of suspected marijuana stuffed inside a black bag along the Byapss Road in Barangay 8-A around 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 28.
According to the Davao City Police Office report, Arnel, a 48-year-old barangay tanod and resident of Purok 7, Kawayanan, was the one who spotted a suspicious black bag left unattended along the road.
He immediately informed the administrator of Barangay 8-A about the discovery.
Upon inspection, the contents of the bag were found to include one brick of suspected marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, wrapped in clear cling wrap, seven rectangular, self-sealing transparent plastic sachets with stickers inside, and one weighing scale.
The suspected marijuana has an estimated total weight of 1,065.6 grams (approximately 1.07 kilograms) with a standard drug price of P 1,278,720.00.
Authorities are now trying to identify the owner of the bag.
Meanwhile, the confiscated items have been turned over to the Davao City Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.
