A BARANGAY captain was shot and killed by unidentified assailants inside an elementary school campus in Malita on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 30, 2025.
According to the report, Isabelo Masiwel II of Pangaleon, Malita, was paying his construction workers at Tubalan Elementary School when four men approached and shot him without warning around 3 p.m.
Masiwel was reportedly at the school to disburse salaries to his team, who were working on a school building project. The suspects immediately fled the scene after the attack.
The Malita Municipal Police Station has launched an investigation to determine the motive behind the killing and identify the gunmen.
