THE LAND Transportation Office (LTO) XI has announced that the long-standing backlog in vehicle plate numbers has been resolved, with ample supply now available for distribution.

During Wednesday’s Davao Peace and Security press briefing, Joel Mandaya, the acting assistant regional director of LTO XI, said, “I would like to inform the public regarding plate numbers that we have applications available on our Facebook page, Land Transportation Region XI, where you can access information about plate numbers, especially concerning the backlog.”

“We have an LTO tracker, a plates inquiry system, and a data form.”For motorcycle owners, Mandaya explained a streamlined process: For MC plates, especially for motorcycles without plate numbers, we have a QR code for detailed information. “

“You can fill up the form directly at our LTO property, specifically at the LTO regional office, and then you can claim your plate number there.

“Mandaya emphasized that the supply is now sufficient. “This is what we at LTO XI want to convey to our clients regarding claiming. We have enough supply and plate numbers. As a matter of fact, during the press conference of our DOTR secretary yesterday (July 15, 2025), the problem of the backlog plates is already solved,” he confirmed.

He further urged clients to utilize their online resources. “We have enough supply. To those clients who still don’t have their plates, please access our Facebook page, Land Transportation Regional Office XI.

“The guidelines and computer apps link are there for you to access and process your plate number,” he said, adding that this applies to four-wheel vehicles as well.

While the backlog is cleared, Mandaya noted a remaining challenge in distribution.

“There is no more backlog; however, the problem is that clients need to claim them at the regional property section. But later on, through our on-out data form, we will send them to the district offices across Davao Region, and owners can claim them there,” he concluded, indicating future plans of the LTO XI to decentralize the claiming process for greater convenience.
