FIREFIGHTERS quickly doused the blaze inside Gaisano Mall along J.P. Laurel Avenue on Wednesday, Sept. 25.
According to a report from the Bureau of Fire and Protection XI, the incident occurred at approximately 7:20 p.m. in Mang Inasal Branch, and responding fire units declared a fire-out at 8:15 p.m.
The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) deployed three fire trucks—from Bajada Alpha, Central Alpha, and Bangoy Alpha—to the scene. They were supported by six auxiliary responders and four ambulances.
Authorities confirmed that there were no casualties or injuries reported from the incident.
The cause of the fire and the total cost of damage are still under investigation.
Meanwhile, in a statement on Thursday evening, the Gaisano Mall of Davao said, “A fire incident happened in one of the tenants at the lower ground floor of GMall of Davao this evening.”
“Our emergency response team, together with the Bureau of Fire Protection and volunteer firefighters, contained the situation immediately,” the statement said.
The fire did not disrupt the operations of the shopping mall, and it remains open today.
