AS PART of Crime Prevention Week, the Davao City Police Office (DCPO) reminded residents to take proactive steps to secure their homes and communities.

The DCPO released a list of anti-robbery tips, urging the public to be vigilant and partner with law enforcement to prevent crime.

Key anti-robbery tips from the police:

  1. Lock All Doors and Windows: Always make sure all entry points to your home are locked to prevent anyone from getting in.
  2. Leave on Outdoor Lights: Keep lights on outside, especially in dark areas of your home, to increase visibility and deter intruders.
  3. Install a Burglar Alarm: A burglar alarm can alert neighbors and the police if someone tries to break into your home.
  4. Set Up CCTV Cameras: Installing CCTV cameras can help you monitor your property and serve as a valuable tool for authorities in case a crime occurs.
  5. Report Suspicious Persons: Immediately report any suspicious individuals in your area to the police.

These tips are part of a broader effort to strengthen crime prevention programs through a community-oriented approach, emphasizing the crucial role residents play in maintaining peace and order. Meanwhile, the DCPO encourages everyone to embrace a “culture of security” to ensure a safer Davao City.
