THE 10TH Infantry (Agila) Division marked the beginning of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month with a flag-raising ceremony on Aug. 4, 2025, led by division commander Major General Allan Hambala.

The event also served as a platform to honor retiring personnel and recognize the division’s top-performing dental unit.

During the ceremony, Brigadier General Alvin Luzon, the 10ID Assistant Division Commander, led the troops in a “Pledge of Reaffirmation of Commitment and Support to IHL.”

Following the pledge, Major General Hambala read a message from Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff, General Romeo Brawner Jr., who emphasized the military’s responsibility to protect civilians and uphold the rule of law.

“As we celebrate IHL Month, let this serve as a reaffirmation of our pledge to protect the rights and lives of non-combatants, to treat all persons humanely without discrimination, and to uphold the rule of law even amidst the fog of conflict. Most of all, let our humanity remain despite conflict,” the message stated.

The event also included a special tribute to eight retiring 10ID personnel, who were recognized for their dedicated service to the country.

Additionally, the 10th Dental Dispensary was honored as the Best Field Unit in Mindanao during the Philippine Army Dental Service Family Day 2025, for its outstanding commitment to providing quality oral healthcare.
